ETB Digi dash and alternator

Evening all

I am fitting a Digidash to my MK2 MX5 engined Thruxton. I am also using the MK2 Loom.

The digidash doesn't use the feed for the battery warning light, it measures the voltage itself.

The mk2 MX5 ECU controls the alternator and has a feed from the ECU to the warning light on the dash.

Bare with me :-)

I understand on a standard alternator the light needs to be used for the alternator to function properly.

So the question is........ Will the ECU or the alternator get upset that i'm not using the feed from the ecu to the light?

My best guess is it will be fine, what about you guys?

Thanks

I have a DigiDash 2 Lite. I don't have any problems from my ECU (Nissan) because I'm not using the Dash alt light. The DigiDash reads the correct voltage being generated (I've measured with a voltmeter). I know the ECU expects a light to be connected, and assumed the digidash would take the place of a light, and work OK. I am going to watch for voltage drops once the weather clears (in 4 months).
