GSXR K2 Clutch Switch by pass

I'm currently re-wiring some of the wiring loom mess on my Indy and I've a question about the clutch switch wiring.

Firstly the engine is running a power commander and has been mapped.

What i've found is the black yellow wire which would normally run through the clutch switch ( to ground i think) has been spliced into and it is wired to a black white earth these two are then on a cable with a female flat blade type connecter. I cannot for the life of me remenber where this came from.
I'm thinking it may have just been connected to ground? Or possible to a relay?

Is it likely if it is ground that the bike would always think it is in neutral but the mapper then mapped out the neutral map?

The clutch switch is usually just in there to act as part for the starter disable circuit along with the side stand switch. On some bikes I know you have to pull in the clutch to allow the bike to be started. It was probably just grounded to remove the starter cut out.

You're dead right Marco. If you simply ground out the clutch switch you'll end up on safe maps which are hopeless. You need to add a relay to ground the clutch switch on starting and then leave it open circuit.

Marco you are correct, I just had my K2 on the rollers at PDQ and found that the clutch wire had not been cut. I was loosing 500rpm in all gears. As you said it is pin 19 on the ecu yellow and black. it needs to be shorted for the start then open when the engine is running. I just put a relay in that energised when I pushed the start button then when I let go it switch's off.

I thought as much.
I guess the ecu/power commander works differently to a mapped car ecu then as this one was mapped whilst this earthed clutch switch was not properly wired?
Therefore I am surprised the mapper never noticed the reduced rev limit as he is a reputable local tuner.. what is baffling me is why it has a blade connector attached to the pair of wires as if it has had power put to it?

Dopdog did it also restrict performance or just give you a reduced rev limit. I am aware the later k series it has a refuced performance effect?

as far as I know it just reduced rpm but am not 100% sure.

Ok, looks like It may be worthwhile sorting the switch out properly and fitting the flatshifter I have aquired and then popping it back for another rolling road session just to be sure, you never know It may make some more power

Btw what did yours make on the rollers, have you a print out that you can post up which i can compare with mine?

Also don't suppose you have any pictures of how you've placed all your wiring please?
