Just trying to work out how to mount my fuse boxs, I have two with 6ish in each.
My fuse holders are like this one
6 WAY BLADE TYPE FUSE HOLDER KIT CAR CAMPER CARAVAN AUTOMOTIVE
I want to mount them on the scuttle in the engine bay but assuming I would need to cut a slit rather than a hole to fit the wires to them.
Would I be best getting a different type of fuse holder (flush mount) as mine stand off the face of the mounting surface a bit (they came with the
wiring loom)
Any pics of mounting them liek mine would be a great help.
I've got 2 of these that came built in to my loom - my scuttle had a large-ish (circa 40mm) hole drilled in the middle, so i'm feeding the
wires through and mounting the holders on the surface in the middle (with about a 10mm gap in between them).
If you carefully pull the yellow pin out about 5mm, then look underneath for the spring retaining part of it and depress, you can then remove the end
clips that attach to the fuse from the unit to feed them through panels etc..
I'm also using a bit of loom tape and some split conduit around the wires leading to the holders, as well as a grommet around the edge of the
hole to stop chaffing. I'd offer pictures, but unfortunately the scuttle is off at the powder coaters!
