RPM PICKUP ON RACE TECHNOLOGY
daniel mason - 1/11/13 at 08:19 PM

on my mk2 dl1 data logger there is no description of where to connect the rpm pickup. any ideas on where to connect the wire to? my zzr1100 is running carbs and not fuel injected.
with my logger i also have a dash 3 which shows speed via gps but i want it to display RPM and shift lights so could do with it connecting this weekend if possible!

Useful info here I think

See above, there should be a RPM low signal and a RPM high shown on the back of the DL1 box where all the other wiring goes in, it'll go in the same connector as the other wires.

Can always wrap it around a HT lead?

it says thets only a 1 out of 5 rated option and not one i wanted. but if its only option i will do it!

How about the - side of the coil?

Both are more old school with ECU's nowadays but pretty reliable.

so can i take the +ve from the positive side of coil and -ve from -ve side? and is this more reliablr than around a HT lead? cant really see how it can be but hey ho! cheers

Hi there

Use the same as the bike used, is there not an O/P from the ingition module?

Worth looking at a wiring diagram for this.

Cheers

the ignition module is not very accessible really.fixed and wedged behind the battery under the exhaust headers. cheers
