i have been on for two weeks trying to fit a jap alternator to my locost but cant get the bracket right can anyone help
the engine is a 2lt twin cam dohc so there is not alot of room : cool:
A few more details might be a good idea! And some pictures too preferably.
Is the problem finding a suitable bracket or making your own?
From the Rascal mount I just cut off the piece that it actually bolts too and welded this to a 3mm plate I'd already drilled to match some holes
in the block. Then just re-used the old bolts from the Pinto mount and the Rascal bolts to attach the alt' to the mount.
Took about 30mins (plus painting) and cost about 0 pence!

I made my own bracket to fit a Kia Pride Alternator to my pinto, it took about 1 1/2 hours to make and works fine

Mark,
You shouldn't need a thick wire like that for such a small alternator... or is it like the F1 wheel ties idea? Just in case it falls off?
I'll get me coat!
many thanks the three mil plate work just fine
