Morning Folks,
I'm looking at one of these to solve all my speedo magnet problems:
ebay link
Looks like it should fit to my gearbox fine, but what is the wiring diagram?
Looks like it has three wires?
This is where my knowledge starts to run out, but i would guess:
3 wire --> hall sensor type
and therefore
1: +ve
2: signal
3: ground
?
Am I on the right track?
Thanks all,
C
Also used on early Ford Puma, don't know the pinout depends on connector on other end. You are definitely on the right track.
Yep, Hall affect ssensor. I used the Ford sensor for mine an it ran very smooth at any speed.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram and/or pin diagram for the connector?
Hope this arrives in time for my IVA

If you buy it from Burton Power (who are competitionfordparts on ebay) the packet includes details of which wire is which. I bought the same sensor
and my notes say:
Brown/Black +ve
Brown -ve
Brown/Yellow signal
I needed a circlip and threaded ESS adaptor too.
I'd recommend testing the sensor with a multimeter BEFORE chopping the ford connector off :-)
Getting the circlip fitted was a pain and I'm finding the sensor is wanting to unscrew itself from the ESS adapter, so I'll need to use a
spot of threadlocker or glue I think.
In my Ford TIS diagram
1= Power
2 = Signal
3 = 0V (Gnd)
