Hi
Iam after some advice with ref to a new battery
The car is a Sylva J15 so space/size is an issue i got the now dead exide 063 out only because its on ramps !
The engine is a 1600 sigma running on injection with an aftermarket ecu, no heater/wipers or luxury items but normal road use so what do you reckon
would be the minimum AH and cold cranking that i would need ?
Thanks

I killed a couple of standard lead acid batteries in my Locost simply through lack of use.
I eventually replaced the battery with an Odyssey PC680 and I've never had any trouble since. It's reasonably compact and can be mounted in
almost any orientation (not up-side-down!). The only downside is the cost at around £90.
It's about 200 x 200 x 80mm.
It runs a fairly standard Locost with MX-5 fuel injected engine, lights, instruments, wipers etc...

Had a look at the Lithium ion batterys? Very light, both on the car and on your wallet! But, if they last as long as the Red Top 25 I used on my car
should be a good investment.

Thanks for the replies
The dead exide was L-195mm W-170mm H-180mm and the quick connectors i have can just go on. I have found some smaller size Yuasa on a website with 20
AH and 330 CCA. To be fair to exide i bought it just to start the engine knowing that i would probably destroy it from lack of use by the time the
car was finished.
As the battery needs to be replaced and the build is nearly complete id rather not change cables etc for an Odyssey type although it would help in the
sub 500kg target i have set !
Do you reckon a 20AH and 330 CCA would do it ?

If you're considering Li Ion then I wouldn't have thought buying from the States was a particularly good idea - for a start what happens if
you have a warranty issue?
Our range of Li Ion Link Here we can always do 5% off for LCB, just give us a ring -
approx equivalent to the PC680 is the Lipo 12C, or for something with a little more power the 10A, around 6kg weight saving over a PC 680 & a lot
more weight saving over an 063 or anything like that
