Hey everyone,
I'm trying to wire in an acewell digital dash and I can't figure out which wire is for the fuel level signal. Both wires I believe went to
the standard clocks so currently they aren't attached to anything, does one need power and another is the signal? Does 1 need grounding? I'm
seriously stumped by this.
Any help appreciated. Thanks, Dean.
Looks like a normal mechanical variable resistor to me.
One goes to earth the other is the signal. The dash gives out a reading depending on the resistance it sees to earth.
It looks to me they can go either way round.
DONT PUT 12V POS NEAR IT.
As above.
You could also measure the resistance across the two connections for full and empty and set the gauge range (if the gauge has selectable ranges) to
this.

That's great thanks, seems the problem I had was that I wasn't earthing the other wire. Very knowledgable forum this
