Digidash oil pressure reading
shortie - 9/2/05 at 06:20 AM

Having a problem whereby I am not getting any reading on the Digidash for oil pressure.

On the dash it just keeps coming up with 'NC' which basically means 'Not Connected' but I have tested the wire and there is continuity right through from the sensor end to the digidash DIN plug.

Also tried connecting the sensor end of the wire to earth as this should make the Digidash show 140PSI for the Oil Pressure but still get 'NC' on the unit.

Anyone any ideas?

thanks,
Rich.

try shorting the pin on the digidash input directly to ground ?

That should tell you if the dash is actually working.

Will try that tonight just to be sure, have already tested wire and connected it to ground but will try direct from Digidash pin later.

thanks,
Rich.

Hi,

I'm having exactly the same problem as well ....

Again, I checked continuity in the wires but everything seems fine.

I have a duel pressure and low warning sensor and I can get the Digidash to display the low 'OIL' alarm but I always get 'NC' for the Oil pressure value.

I'll be interested to find out whether you manage to solve your problem, as I'm not having much success at the moment..

Thanks

Matthew

If that was me it would be saying

NC- L

No. Cash. Left.

to complete your build because you spent most of your budget on a digidash system

They look nice and im sure work well but they are just well expensive

Depends what you want, add all the seperate gauges people usually buy and the Digidash doesn't work out that expensive, add to that the fact that I intend to race the car and it's money well spent.

Each to there own I guess.

Rich.

P.S. Oh I forgot, it's a nice gadget!

i had one or two probs with the ETB senders for oil pressure but only after a few months of use, had to exchange twice the fault was "NC" but was ok for over a year after that, check the output of the sender.

I've also replaced the sender unit, but with no joy.

Jon, what readings should I be getting from the sender outputs ??

Thanks

Matthew

Matt,

Had response from ETB, test the resistance across the sender as follows:-

one elctrode on the G terminal on the sender, the other probe on the sender body, you should get 10ohms resistance.

When you directly earth the wire that goes to the sender the digidash should read 0 psi.

Hope that helps, will try mine tonight.

Rich.

Rich,

Cheers for the info.

I'll try mine tonight as well !!

- I'll also check the Software Version.

Thanks
