Guys,
There seems to be some lack of clarity on what needs to be available with the ignition switched off for SVA.
Can someone who has passed SVA confirm what is required. I have checked my SVA manual and believe that only the hazard lights need to be operable
with the igntion off. I also have the horn working with the ignition off as in my normal road car.
Can someone possibly clarify this?
ta,
Rich.
You have to have sidelights - otherwise you wouldn't be able to obey the law regarding parking in unlit areas.

Side lights and hazards mate!
Sidelights and Hazards when ignition off, also horn must work. You may prefer to have brake lights to work too, as on Japanese cars, though this is
not an SVA requirement.
Fog light(s) to illuminate only when headlights are on!
Cheers guys, looks like I will have to rewire the sidelights then!! shouldn't be too bad!
thanks,
Rich.
are you sure about the horn issue. I'm sure my road car needs the ign on for this.
I believe that the horn is optional...

I'd definitely wire the horn so that it works when the ignition is off. It wouldn't be the first time where I have had to honk my horn at
someone who is reversing happily into my car in the supermarket carpark!!
Cheers,
Craig.
