will depend on type..
some you need to mount vertical..//near vertical..
they are often cooled/filled by/with oil...

Coils are mounted in all orientations on production cars.
If you mount it on it side will it's COG be lower?

Mount it facing down so the sparks are aided by gravity
so what your saying is a coil is like a jar of spark ,s
turn it upside down and they run out better ????????
what if they all fall out and you lose them?
the car might breakdown!

That was my thinking, does this mean I've been lied to.
Thanks for the replys it seems I will have to leave the lid on so that the sparks don't escape when I'm not using the car. Jacko
