Wiring diagram
jonbeedle - 19/7/05 at 03:50 PM

I'm sure this has been asked before but has anyone put together a wiring diagram for a 'book' Locost, preferably with a xflow engine? I'm sure I've seen it on here but can't find it.
I have a Premier Wiring loom and I'm having difficulty with the engine spur as the instructions are basic. I can't get through on the helpline. I've wired the rest of the car I'm just stuck on this bit. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Jon

The green tacho impulse wire
The blue charge light wire, not sure where these go. I think I need an ignition amplifier as well what ever that is, therefore I think the black wire that I've connected to the coil +ve should go through the amplifier too.

Hi Jon,
If your using the standard Xflow ignition then the black wire goes to coil +ve and you don't need an ignition amplifier. If your using electronic ignition I've no idea.
The blue charge light wire goes to the alternator 3 pin plug along with the two red wires.
Don't know about the tacho impulse as I've not fitted one.

Jon

Just to let you that I'm keeping an eye on your posts re Premier wiring looms and am sort of in the same boat as you so all of your posts and subsequent replies are extreemly useful for me

The green wire from the Tacho goes to a fuse that is live when the ignition is on. The wire from the alternator goes to the ignition bulb. The other side of the bulb needs to be live with the ignition on!
Cheers John

Goes to the distributor terminal on the coil doesn't it?

I'm with Pete on this one, green wire to coil -ve. The +ve coil starts black, then goes white or beige - ballast resistor.
Blue wire goes from alternator plug (smallest terminal) to charge light on dash.
