Its rated at 12Vdc/10A, so no good for a battery cut-out. Could I fit it in the wire to one side of the coil or somewhere else to work as a disabling feature?

I have had this switch knocking around for ages, wondering what to do with it.

You could wire it to a starter solenoid to become a battery cut out switch
