Sealed Beam headlamps conversion to Halogen??
Dave Ashurst - 25/1/03 at 10:33 AM

I'm struggling after dark with the v. average light output from my sealed beam headlamps (7" circular, lolocost)

Can anyone suggest what I could use to replace the sealed beam units to take halogen bulbs, keeping the same chrome bits??

i.e. without spending too much.

i just got a pair of halogens for an MGB £23 inc vat and bulbs from MGBhive, should be a straight swap as they are meant to be an upgrade from sealed glowworm headlights

Failing that any land rover accessories supplier will stock them for same sort of cost.

Thanks, Macca

and, guess what? mini's too...

Suddenly there's 7inch halogen conversions everywhere!

****Thick question alert*****

do these conversions include the sidelights?, cos the minis in particular have about four versions some with integral sides and some without.

Cheers

the mgb ones do

The mini ones I saw yesterday do too.

Word of caution though; I haven't tried any on the car yet. Hope to get round to it tonight.

Try the Cibie conversions, fantastic lights, wont have a mini without 'em anymore, plus 100/80 bulbs (naughty naughty) Try demon tweeks, expensive (£25 ish each)
