All the bits have started to arrive from Farnell, RS and Digi Key for my Mega Squirt.
I have a feeling I'm goint to be looking for some support from some of you guys in the near future.
I think this is going to be a very steep learning curve.
I don't have a problem with the construction side of the project but the thought of the setting up and tuning I find daunting.
Perhaps I'll feel more confident as I progress (Hope so).
I have allready got one question for anyone who has built their own unit.
Where did you source a suitable case from?
I can't at the moment find anything that looks suitable for either the MS itself or the Relay board.
I'm still waiting for the partial kit from Bowling and Grippo. 2 weeks now. How long do they normally take?
Digi Key were very quick. 5 days from the US.

Maplin is the best by far in my opinion. They have got all sorts of enclosures, boxes and probably most of the components too.

I am also doing a megasquirt conversion on my car this winter.It is already fitted with a Megajolt which I built last winter and experimented all
summer with adjustments etc. I am going to use the megasquirt and Edis software to allow me to use the coil pack and VR sensor already installed and
am presently fitting GPZ1100 throttle bodys with a homemade steel manifold.
I havent ordered a megasquirt kit yet as i was hoping to be able to get just a PCB and do the rest myself , i have a programmer for the microprocessor
and a number of blank processors and map sensors spare, so really only need a PCB but it looks as if I will have to buy a partial kit. I am looking
forward to building and experimenting with the set up.

Get a log on to megasquirt board, you then get access to other peoples settings that have been posted.
Copy one of these for a similar engine as a starting point.
The latest GUI is good, you can adjust on the fly. Either rolling road or seat of you pants (pick a long hill and time youself up , tweek and retry,
flat roads take twice as long).

My v2,2 board is working fine now. piece of advise, by more than 1 crystal, they are so delicate. Connected it to the engine harness and TPS and
fuel pump seem to work fine.
Last night I discover a nother little hidden bit. I am using a Ford Idle valve, PWM I believe. The power transistor to drive it is not in the base
BOM, so if you are using a Ford valve you will need one. RS do them and it saves having to mess about with Digi key.
Also there are a set of diodes required for the tach signal which are supplementary
Suppose it pays to read the manual first!

I have now just installed a megasquirt using GSXR600K1 ITB's on a RF900 bike engine.
It now idles fine but low power on the road is crap..
I'm only using NB O2 sensor at the moment.
lots of tuning work is now required!
I used one of the extruded style cases from Maplins.
For tuning, I found that the Innovate LC1 wideband O2 sensor and controller obtainable from Bill Shurvinton is very useful.
I'd be interested in the VE table shape of those who are using ITB's with the standard Speed-Density algorithm.
I changed to hybrid alpha-n which improved fueling control at high MAP.
