I've changed my four speed gearbox for a five speed.
it's the later type without a cable drive.
I need to sort the speedo out.
As I see it I've got three options.
1 .a bycycle speedo.
2. A new electronic speedo with sensor
3. Adapt the Granada speedo to suit my dash, running off the original ford sender in the gearbox.
What do you think?

I've just thought I'd like to build a digital dash, but as I struggle to wire a plug, this might not be a viable option!!!

Bike speedo - £10.
You can mount it right above the wheel in front of you as well.
Not lit for night though.

M&P used to do a holder. with lights, for push bike speedos for the custom bikers.

I would recomend the KISS system, if you already have a serviceable speedo, and a virtualy bomb proof way of running it, why pay out for another, less reliable one. IMHO. Ray.

the photo is a prototype without gear indicator, it was developed for a BEC so has super fast zero intertia revs display.

Looks like most of the features would work with a car engine as well? Though obviously there would be some which were redundant.
The next question is of course, how much? And which transducers come with it?

at zero volume £200 means I don't actually lose money..... That gets the basic 2 PCB stack plus a LCD totaliser (& battery) odometer, the
speedo vane switch and some connector bits. In reasonable volume they'd only cost a quarter of that!
They work with any variable resistance oil pressure and fuel and temperature senders - a resistor can be swapped to improve linearity if required.
I have to do the gear display setup in the configuration (I have the data for R1 and ZX9R) so for CEC I'd leave the gear indicator off and alter
rpm display to a linear scale up to 9krpm

How many do you need to be able to do to get the price down? I am sure several people on here would love one for their car! Plus I cant stretch to
£200 at the moment anyway. Maybe in a year or so I could!
