The ones fitted to modern cars, would it be possible to make these work in kit cars and if so what would you need.

if you knew hoe the thing worked, then you could trasnfer it to the kit car- it is unlikley that info. is avaialble so you need to figure it yourself or hope someone else has done it; posting on a forum like this for the latter part is the first step.
