I've got this high level brake light
Brake light
It's the 15th item, half way down.
Anyway it's rubbish.
The contact for the base of the bulb is a single strip, which is difficult to get touching all the bulbs and if you do, when you've driven a few
miles it moves half the bulbs are out.
Does anyone know where I could get some bulb holders with either wires attached or solder terminals that will take the same bulbs, quite small bayonet
fitting? so that the things are secure.
Thank you so very much
Chris
Why not use one of the many led hi level brakelights? Bulbs are soooo unreliable.
Should be able to fit 12v LEDS --- I bought some 5mm Red ones from Maplin recently come with 6mm holders and long flying leads.
Fitted a couple to the inside of the highlevel brake light on the R75 and connect them to the parking radar buzzer -- quite neat and works a treat
- I see them in the interior mirror when the parking radar detects an obstruction.
You could try crushing the existing holders tight onto the bulbs you've got or Solder the bulbs in position, or maybe put springs imbetween the
bulb and the back of the lense to force them back into the holder.
Unless it moulded into something or fits really neatly i'd replace it with an LED version.
A shop down the road form me had them for less than a Fiver, would probably cost your as much as that for new bulb holders etc.

I'd go for LED as well Chris, at about £10 its not worth arsing round with your old one.
Cheers,
