I will be starting my first ever build over a 6-7 week time span starting 1st July. The part that scares me the most is the electrics and knowing how to wire ignition to an immobiliser to an alarm, as well as all the other more 'standard' bits.

Are there any manuals (Haynes?) that would aid me with this? I suspect the Haynes manual for my donor vehicle wouldn't tell me too much for the kit car build?

Ive seen a haynes book for automotive electrics down at my local halfords, might be worth you popping down to yours?

I'm generally more of an e-shopper, you don't find me in high street shops often, other than if i'm buying some new clothes or shoes . But will take a look and grab the ISBN . What i'm most confused about is all the electric talk regarding switches, relays, looms, etc. I have a very faint idea of what these do from reading and searching this forum, but can't say i'd have a clue when it comes down to the actual installation...

How else have 1st time builders coped? Am i making a too bigger deal out of this?

Is what you want, it will give you a good grounding, presuming of course that you are building a CEC and not a BEC.

And also there are two or three companys out there that will sell you a plug and play wiring loom to fit a 7 type car, so you could get away with knowing very little at all and what you don't know we can help you with......
