So... its come to the time where I throw the switch and the whole car springs to life but...no.
Although the engine turns over fine, I can get no spark. Even chucking the meter in there brings up nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do to trace the fault, I dont really want to gut the wiring again but if needs must I will do.
Thanks in advance
Joe
not going to be much help here but it might be the cyclelok! have you cut it out or has it got a connector?
The cyclelock has been replaced with an aftermarket alarm so I dont think thats the problem. Would it turn over if that was faulty anyway?
have you cut out the two engine cut offs
side stand and clutch
Should these be shorted together or left open? I have tried the side stand switch in both combinations to no avail. I'll try the clutch switch
tomorrow if you can tell me which way it has to be... At the moment I have it shorted together.
Cheers
Joe
both ones ar joined together
Ok cheers, I'm pretty sure that was the combination I had them in originally but will double check tomorrow. If its not that any other ideas?
Another thing is the fuel pump seems to have stopped working too, it was working fine the first few times and now nothing... not a peep from it.
fuses ???
Jason
I've checked all the fuses and they're all fine.
The side stand switch and the stop switch are shorted so thats not where the problem lies.
Does anyone have anything else I should look for?
If not how much for an auto electrician?
Cheers
Joe
If I'd finnished the R1 install I'm currently on I could help, but I havn't been able to start the column bit yet, so can't help
from experience, try asking in the BEC section, you might get a more experienced responce from them
