The cables to my battery are secured to the terminal with an M6 bolt that screws into a captive nut. I need to get a longer bolt - can I just use a stainless one or should I use another material?

Same question for the bolts I have used to secure earth cables to the chassis.

Stainless should be fine, anything but plastic I suspect
