Which colour is ignition and which colour is starter from behind the key barrel. Choices are Red Black Yellow and blck with a blue stripe. Jon

And with a multimeter or even a circuit tester that would be the answer but with my dash out and alarm half in i cant go buy one and the wires i assumed were the ones are not. see my problem

From my fitting notes....

Feed = Red
Pos 2 = Black
Pos 1 = Yellow
Start = Blue/Black

Many thanks. Like i say its for an alarm im trying to wire. Cut my losses tonight and took out what id done but maybe tomorrow. Cheers again.

Get one of those screwdrivers with a light in the handle and a wire with a crocodile clip while you're at it. They are invaluable for poking round and finding what's live when the switch is in different positions and you can undo screws with them

Hmm, got the alarm kind of working. Is it normal for what was earth to switch to live once the car is running? and thats before i got to it!
