Just sorted out my loom connections to the Sierra ignition switch but.....

Ive Just bought a keypad based alarm/immobiliser and also fancy fitting a start button...

So... any ideas how I could wire it all up so that I had no ignition key and tapping in the key code would enable the ignition so I could then just press the start button? I know i could have a toggle swith for the ignition but just fancied simplifying it.....

I suppose another question is how I then disable the ignition, perhaps an 'engine stop' button is needed? .....

As you can see a lot more thought is needed and my knowledge of those wiggly amp thingies aint good........

what alarm / immobiliser are you using may I ask, would be interesting to know which to get a bit more info on its wiring. Regards the engine start button, if you gotta a toggle switch, so you push it to switch the ignition on, and pushed it again to switch off, that would save some hassle. then it would just be a case of wiring the switch into your ignition feed id have thought

Not sure on the exact model of alarm yet but it is apparently a Quatum alarm... still awaiting delivery. but it looks like this if anyone can identify it.....

On second look it seems it may not actually immobilise - it may be 'just' an alarm ah well at least it didn't cost much!
