cps wiring

those of you that were alarmed by a pall of acrid black smoke hanging over west london....fear not its only moi doing my wiring
on the EDIS the signal wires are sheilded like coax,my mundano lumd didnt have shielded cps wiring,do i need it?

If the Mondeo didn't have shielded cable for this sensor you'll probably get away with it if you route the wiring well clear of any 'noisy' stuff, i.e. HT leads, coils, alternator, etc. But my feeling is why risk it - induced noise on this line (and the TPS line) can produce spurious faults which can be difficult to diagnose, so for the the sake of a couple of meters of shielded cable I'd be inclined to play safe

PS. The smoke has just about cleared now at Windsor....

Geoff.

The smoke has all gone in ashford too, probs safe to go in the garage now.

a wild stab in the dark, maplins might be the best place for shielded.

I'll need a bit myself so i'll trot down there in the week if you want john

she runs.......but
acording to my noid light the injectors are firing but i have to squirt fuel into the bods to get her running, could this be no programe in the megasquirt ecu?
oh and 2 of the red neon,s flash when she runs.

Well done mate! You must have got some sort of program loaded for it to run at all. What you need to do now is fire up megatune and setup all the various parameters to suit your installation. It sounds like your sparks are working, but you'll need to setup the fuelling side. Basically this means setting up the 'constants' file and then getting some sort of fuelling map loaded. Time to RTFM I reckon!

Good luck, Geoff.

Squirting the fuel in by hand might get a bit hectic when you want to go fast Can't you drag the desktop computer out into the shed to tune it John ?
