i bet it started then she stalled it

if so, foot hard down and keep turning, it should go after a while

how much life is in the battery? may well go into 'safe' mode if battery is not charged enough.

My vauxhall says 'safe' when the battery has been disconnected but thats just the radio code needed. Its a 97 Tigra.

They dont say when the engines in safe mode just the radio then itl display in the radio dash display.. Bet the batteries flat. They go into limp home and the engine managment light will be on.
