Fireblade Loom Bits ID Please

Just to check:

Is A - the brain/ecu bit

Is B - the rectifier

Is C - the +ve and -ve (even though they are so close to each other in the chunky block)

Thanks,

Pat.

C is the main relay with 12volts in from battery and 12 volts out to starter motor and the others are as you said

stevec - 4/2/07 at 10:58 PM

A looks like the ignition ignitor and B looks like the regulator rectifier for the alternator. C is the starter relay.
Steve.

Ahhh, so the negative of the battery is just straight to chassis and engine like a car battery?

Is there a decent mounting point on the engine for a negative lead?

C is the starter relay, also holds main fuse. Long black wire goes to starter motor.

yes two main mounts on the side of the block, probably used on your cradle are good

bigrich - 4/2/07 at 11:03 PM

the earth lead bolts to one of the 10mm bolts that hold the starter to the block.

Avoneer - 4/2/07 at 11:08 PM

So,

+ve from battery to "C" to starter.

-ve from battery to chassis and same point on chassis to block.

Sound ok?

That sounds lovely

I've just got the one earth lead traight to my block, the chassis then earts through all the mounts, but the more the merrier I guess

This might be of use, it's the wiring diagram for my Indyblade.

I spot a pink wire on your CDI (A). You know you need a 390 Ohm resistor in the 12v (ignition switched) feed to that.

u2u me your address if you need one posting out tomorrow.

You best plan on binning the regulator and get something more robust off a later bike, those ones overheat with ease.

I earthed mine just aft the rear of the of the starter motor.

Cheers guys.

Loom is from my engine which came from a BEC so all mods should be done.

Got one of those superdream rectifiers ready to swap when I start pulling the loom apart.

I'd say definitely change the rectifier for a Honda Superdream one, wouldn't even bother with the original one, mine lasted about a month.

Best place to buy wire from is a welding shop, better quality fine stranded and really cheap !
