neat wiring???
worX - 5/2/07 at 02:20 PM

just wondering whether I should trim my zip-ties back or are they neat enough?

do you think they are strong enough to hold the wires!!!

Richard Quinn - 5/2/07 at 03:10 PM

Aah, I see! I thought they were bonnet stays!
As most of my cars are held together with cable ties, jubilee clips and tank tape, I would like to know where you got those from. Those would constitute a permanent repair as far as I'm concerned!

Am tranna remember a tip I got off a sparky once, think it was to trim then back with a Knife.

That way the ends are blunt, rather than sharp when they've been "sheared-off" to a sharp point with cutters.

So ya don't catch the back of your hand etc on the little stubby end! cos they can be pretty nasty!

probably need a hacksaw to trim them

Ahhaaa

Thought the 1st pic might have been a little close and large...

Never really noticed the 2nd pic, My god there HEUGE!

If our instalation/contracts side got hold of any that big they'd be holding boilers to the wall and 8" steam mains up with em!

Yuo should leave them as they are, but you should do that nut up on the engine cradle though!!

I'd say they're not big enough. Stop messing around with those piddley ones and get something a bit more serious on the job.

It's looking good though....But it's still not on its wheels??
