Made a good start in stripping out the loom on my 2.0i Sierra. I am going to leave the whole rear section in the car because if I can't wire up 2
rear lamps, a fuel pump and a cut off switch I had better stick to watching telly.
I cam across a large control box fastened to the N/S A pillar which I cannot identify, I suspect that it is an amp for the radio but would like to
know for sure before I crop it out.
It has the part number 87BB-10K910-AB which means it was first fitted to Sierra's in 1987, if it helps

id keep it junst in case if I were you. Can you trace the wires and amount of pins on the connector to summat that looks the same on a haynes manual
drawing?
I know I had a box or two I didnt use, one of which was the bulb fail unit. Obviously its not your ignition controller
I didnt find the loom much guidance from the middle of the car back - its all rear cigar lighter / speakers and crap on a granada - as well as the
impact switch, rear lights, and fuel pump.
Do be sure to cut off the connectors and a bit of the loom for the impact switch if you are gonna use it. I did.

If its under the glove box and has lots of wires feeding into it i'd hazard a guess its the ECU,this is normally there and would have been fitted
to the injenjion models.
not sure about carb models but it is a shiny ally like box.
It's not the ECU, thats out and sorted, its quite a bit smaller than the ECU and at the base of the glove box, not above it, but thanks anyway
probly the one that tells you there is a bulb out
If it is mounted to the pillar could it be the curtesy light delay?
The bulb warning thing is already in the bin, and a courtesy delay? - its got 35 pins!

ABS ECU?
Got no ABS
I think I'll ring Ford in the morning, I still think it might be something to control the 32 speakers in the car
I seem to remember tugging one of them out along with the ECU come to think of it,it went straight in the bin with the ECU as i thought it was
something to do woth the inj system.
I've copied the crowd on my pinto ign lectrics with amp/module and bosch dizzy with a Weber,so i didnt need it anyway.
Can you not find anything relevent in the haynes book of lies ?
It's called the "Auxiliary Warning module" and is responsible for the door open, ice alert, low washer fluid and low fuel warnings.
Ditch it
MikeRJ, spot on, I rang ford this morning
Thanks
