I was wondering if any1 can tell me how to connect the brake warning light up. Is it just a case of connecting the sensor on the brake cap to the battery then to a light? Or is this wishfull thinking? Cheers, Jay
pretty much that simple, give the bulb a 12v feed, then use the switch to give it an earth, thats what i did anyway
You could use your handbrake switch if you have one.
Oh brilliant
Wud use the handbrake but i dont have the switch unfortunately. Did I read that it needs a button to test it? If so how wud that work? Cheers again

Wire it in parallel with the handbrake switch. IIRC you have to be able to check that the light is working from the drivers seat for sva, ie pull on the hand brake.
hi mate
I used the front brake light switch off the r1 as that has a 12v feed only the 1 wire remember
from memory
1 side of your MC plug goes to earth then the other side to earth on your warning light
positive on your warning light goes to + feed on your r1 loom
then when you press the top of the MC it should light up
youve then got to encorp your handbrake earth into your earth side of the warning light aswell
you really could do with an handbrake switch

Pretty much yes!!! The sensor cap has a float in it attached to the top of the float is a ring of metal- when the float decends (ie low level of fluid
left) it completes a circuit between two metal nipples. So it should go battery-sensor-light.
It doesn't matter whether you switch the +ve or -ve.

I must learn to type quicker!!! LOL
Im doing this too at the moment.
Sierra M/c has 3 terminals.
As you look at the terminals 1 - 2 - 3
there is always continuity between 1 and 2 with the cylinder full or empty
There is continuity between 2 and 3 when the button is pressed when the cylinder is full, but not when its pressed when its empty?
and no continuity between 2 and 3 when the cylinder is empty and no button pressed!
Whats going on?
Anyone got a diagram of how to wire this up in conjunction with my handbrake switch?
Cheers
