indicators ??

Do the indicator controls have to be on stalks, or can they be on a three way switch on the dash?

Do they have to be self cancelling?

Anyone know..............

at a guess (maybe a good guess, but a guess nevertheless) i think its ok on the dash, if a trifle inconvinient for yourself! Bikes dont usually self cancel, so i guess again that cars dont have to either, but you never know....

i'd recomend waiting for an answer from someone who knows what their on about, that usually works well....

I've seen a setup using push buttons on the dash, push again to cancel and that had passed so a switch shouldn't be much different as long as it doesn't run foul of the projections measurement.

yours, Pete.

saw a cateringvan or wes****ld(they all look the same to me) with a rocker switch on the dash and that was factory built so should be ok

I bought a nice on-off-on illuminated rocker switch fromvehicle wiring prducts doesnt self cancel, passed sva.
Cant remember how much though, one thing I would say is fit a buzzer or a REALLY prominent tell tale light I keep forgeting to turn the buggers off.

I believe that the cater***** switch is self cancelling as per my work colleage
who used to own one

just for info my car has a dash mounted non cancellng switch, and to remind me that Ive left them on I have fitted a couple of cheap buzzers

For SVA purposes your indicators must "Work". How you switch them on is your business. If it is on a switch on the dash then teh sharp object things come into the equation.

They don't have to be self cancelling.

One other thing whilst on the subject of lights. The sidelights must be a permanent feed from the battery for MOT but not SVA..... go figure....
