Brake test light.

We are using a Sierra master cylinder, & I need to wire up the test light. There are 3 spade connectors on the master cylinder cap. Can anyone tell me how to wire these up to a light & switch on the dashboard? Also.......Does the switch that operates the warning light have to be a push & hold type switch (that makes momentary contact), or can it be an on/off rocker type switch? Appreciate any help.

This should sort you out.

Most people use the handbrake switch as the test switch.

If you dont have the plug to fit the m/c you can find out which pin is which with a multimeter.

Excellent, you are our wiring Guru!
Thanks very much. We don't have a handbrake switch, is that a must for SVA?

Nope no requirement at all. All you need is a switch to check the brake warning light. Most people use the h/b one as its already there most of the time.

One on the dash is fine. Usually just a momentary push-to-make switch will do.

And I would suggest not wife or child safe either. And unsuitable for people who like their sex vanilla flavoured. I dont think i need say more.
