Hi All,
This has been asked a lot of times and here's my solution.
Everything works fine unless you want the Savage interior bulb to light when the Hazard are on.
This is my problem, how do I wire in the light?
Earth is easy, but where can I take the live from for the light???
I've tried from the feed to either of the bulbs (after the switch) via a diode which works, but for some reason the light is on (very dim) all
the time when the Hazard switch is not pressed.
Works fine when it is pressed as it should.
Is the dimness a problem?
Thanks,
Pat...
I don't if this link is any help ?
why not forget diodes and just take a wire from your relay box output
Coming on dimly would be indicative of back EMF somewhere in your loom - something is earthing through the light.
I'd hunt around until I knew which circuit was causing it.
are your indicator bulbs also lit dimly?
If I take a wire out from the Hazard relay and put it into the light, the light will flash all the time!
It has to be after the switch.
My Hazard relay must have a PD across it making the Hazard light dimly ????
Me and Indykid thought about ding it this way - the red thing is a diode and the yellow thing is the Savage light.
How about that ???

Misread your message the first time around! Yes, that should work but your diode symbol is incorrect, the bar should be at the other end. A very
slight downside of this is that when hazards are on the diode could drop 0.7-0.8 volts (depending on diode you choose), so one pair of indicators will
be slightly dimmer than the other. In practice this may not be even noticeable.
Note that a 1N4001 diode is nothing like man enough for this job if you have 21 watt bulbs in your indicators. You need at least a 1N5401, and even
that will be pushed past it's continuous current rating. If you are using LED indicators without ballast resistors then a 1N4001 should be
perfectly adequate.
Try doing it this way.
12v from the flasher relay into point 2 on both sides of the savage switch
Output to indicators is on point 1
Loop one of the point 1 to the 12v for the savage light
That's how I've done mine, no diodes and it works with no feedback
Done it with a diode as per my daigram and it's fine.
Used a phat one from Maplins that can handle 6A. Not sure of the spec of it.
Everything seems happy.
Thanks for all the brain power.

Yeah, the savage will just flash when you switch the indicatos on ???
