What wattage !!!!!!!!!!
carlgeldard - 24/5/07 at 09:01 PM

I'm now ready to start the zx12 but I've got a few problems. Everything works such as the light's, electric water pump and digi dash. The engine turns over and the battery has good charge (11.9 volts) But the FI light does not flash. I haven't got a spark at the plugs and the fuel pump won't run. I got the the pump to run when I bypass the ECU with a 12v supply from the battery. All the wire's checked tonight have continuity or a 12v supply such as coils and injectors. So my question is. What is the wattage of the 100 ohm risistor in the gray wire from the ignition switch and can it be fitted the wrong way around. Has anybody got a part number of the risistor from Maplins.

Thanks in advance for any help as I want it running this weekend.

With resistors it doesnt matter which way around its fitted AFAIK

Hi Carl,

11.9 volts is only about 20% charged.

You should be looked for around 13v for it to be fully charged.

May also be worth doing a quick check with a test bulb - batteries can show voltage but not provide current.

I bought three 100 Ohm in different wattages from the maplin catalogue (the normal looking ones and the white rectangular blocks). Tried them all, doesn't seem to make any difference which one's in circuit though.

P=UxI
So
Watt=voltxAmps

U=IxR
So
Volts=Ampsxohms

A resistor can't be wrong fitted.

Carl,

I think the original clocks need to do a physical check before the ECU will go live. Sorry dunno further than that...

Steve

The RGB boys are using the 12 without the original clocks
