Speedo Sensor

Does any one know of a electronic speedo sensor which runs on the end of a speedo cable?

Is the proper name of these, 'Hall effect sensors'?

Cheers in advance,

The Baron

Yes hall effect.
Will need to be powered, normal voltage to power is 5v or 12v types (12v for car normally).

Digital types are the normal type (on/ off according to proximity of the tooth wheel) you will use.

Later classic range rovers, 3.9 so after around 'H' plate had standard gearbox drive, 6 inches of speedo cable into a box that bolted inside the chassis which then provided the electronic speedo drive.

Loads of people break these on Ebay so you should be able to get one for pennies.

grpdirect.co.uk also do them I've just fitted a Terratrip TERT006 to an Acewell, simple to fit & has sorted out the inaccuracies.
