hi everyone

nearly finished the rewire on my dash now.

im stuck though on how you setup the speed sensor ie what info you put into the instrument panel .

ive fitted all six magnets on to the propshaft and the sensor is mounted in position just need to get the correct reading.

tyre size is 195/45/16.......

do i draw a chalk line (useing the valve on wheel as a marker,then push the car so the wheel does one full turn??

or am i ment to measure the propshaft as ive fitted magnets ect to it ??

if you have mounted the magnets on the propshaft you will have to take into account the dif that you are using ie 3.62 turns of the prop = 1 wheel revolution so you will have to do some mathmatics. i mounted mine on the actual drive shaft as 1 revolution = 1 turn of the wheel and you can measure as you described nto set up the speedo

I've just done this to mine and had exactly the same problem. You need to take the diff into account otherwise the speed will be way out.

First off, you have too many magnets on the prop for it to work. You only want 2 but you need the dash to think you have 6

That way the prop revolutions are divided by 3
Then you need to do a test drive with either a GPS unit or a car following you. Take a reading at a speed (I did 20mph). Divide the actual speed by the indicated speed, use that figure to multiply the current tyre ratio in the Koso dash. That will get you close enough, if it's out at SVA then you can do the same at the speed that is wrong but it should be ok.
