Hi
I've got a tine Odyssey PC310 and I want a drip Optimate-type charger for it. Should I get one for a bike battery or one for a car battery?
Thanks
Isn't it a 12Volt Battery, despite it's gel like innerds??? If so the normal Optimate should be fine... I would of thunked.
Hi Tim. As said ^^ they do not require a trickle charger like the redtop ones.
cheers matt
These things require a hefty charge rate to fully charge them - from memory its around 20A. once the voltage reaches a certain limit - again from
memory its around 14.5 volts the charge rate has to drop off substancially or the battery gets knackered.
If you charge at less than optimum the battery does not get a full charge. No problem if you have a standard duty alternator fitted as it will top it
up at a good rate.
I have the same problem and am baulking at paying inflated prices for "automatic" chargers that don't specify the output
characteristics
Optimate or Accumate. Either will work fine.
