Battery Terminals

I was thinking of putting the battery in the pasenger footwell then putting a couple of terminals above it on the aluminium panel mounted onto circle of plastic maybe (for obvious reasons). I reckon this would look nice and neat then but I'm not sure? Anyone else thought of doing this?Just want the panel clutter free really.

What is the purpose of these extra rterminals? for jump starting/charging?

I have that arrangement and the battery terminals are inaccessible.

Jump starting/battery charging is done by connecting +ve to solenoid terminal and -ve to chassis - no need for extra terminals.

Nah. Just to avoid running cables through bulkheads etc. just bring the terminals to the wire if you see what I mean

gotcha. that would work but it is not ideal to have junctions in the wires for the heavy currents.

Cut a hole to fit a insulating panel and fit grommets in it for the cables.

(I've got gommets in the ali bulkhead and I plan to do the above - it concerns me should the grommet and insluation on the red cable wear though!! ... but there is no movment so it should be fine but still....)
