Hi All,

Have a problem with my indicators.

All lights work (head lights, brakes etc) and hazzards work ok at the correct speed, but when I just indicate for a left turn the indicators flashes twice as fast. When turning right the indicators flash at the correct speed (half as much as the left side).

Have tried a new relay (just in case it was faulty) have also swapped the bulbs from one side to the other side and this did not make any difference.

I have a left warning light and a separate right warning light.

Any one got any ideas what it may be before I rip all the lot out...Am using the normal Sierra controls at the steering wheel....

One of your left-hand bulbs is too low a wattage? I know you've swapped sides, but you never know. The usual cause of a 'too fast' flash is insufficient watts being taken.

The usual combination is 21W front and rear, 5 or 10W side, plus your dash light.

I suggest that you take one bulb out from each side - first the front lights, then rear, then side - and see if the wattages match.

Do you have bike indicators in the front? They used to come with 10W bulbs - nowadays you can get them with 23W.

With a name like that there is no way I am going to kiss you!!!! but you were right...

The front bulbs were 10w and I put a 21w in the front left and it work at the correct speed.

The only thing is that the inner amber covers won't fit over the bulb.

Over the weekend I am going to look at what bulbs I can get, amber or smaller 21w bulbs that will fit....

Glad to be able to help - and even more glad that you're not going to kiss me!

As for the bulb - if you go to a bike shop they should have a 23W bulb that's the same physical size as the 10W one (that's where I got mine). Take the whole indicator, if you can.

I have got a pair of 23W bike sized bulbs you could have if you need them.

Are you using LED or convetional bulbs?
The reason I ask is I had to install resisters into my indicator lines when using rear LED lights

Just came back from a long weekend away and I found some and they work a treat.

Not interested in LED at the moment, they seem a bit expensive....

or fit an electronic relay that flashes at a constant rate independent of bulb wattage.
