Best CAN Dash for my money
lsdweb - 28/10/07 at 09:11 AM

Hi Guys

I'm currently running an Emerald ECU with the K3 upgrade and a Race Technology DL1 Data Logger. My dash is currently using normal instruments - Stack 15k tacho, SPA dual OIl temp / pressure and Racetech water temperature. I want to simplify the wiring if possible and make it all a bit more integrated.

Race technology have developed a serial input faclity which should allow direct connection to the ECU but I'd like to fit a digital dash as well. I could use the Race Technology Dash 1 but it's surprisingly big!

So, any suggestions for a budget dash with CAN BUS facility. I need revs, water temp, oil temp and pressure, shift lights, programmable warning lights and any other bells and whistles available.

I missed out on a good dea recently for an AIM MXL Pista dash / logger - I can't afford a new one!

Any thoughts

Regards

Wyn

I just ran across this company - USA based so yer money goes further! They have a number of digi-dashes coming out soon, the most ambitious one being a full color 6.5" screen with a gigabyte of flash ram on board! Datalogging to the extreme.

http://www.rlc.com/RLC_Racing_Web_Site/Extreme_DLD.htm

But they do offer lesser products as well.

Thanks Steve

i've just ordered a Dash 1 from Race Technology and they're sending me a free serial converter to allow the Emerald to interface directly with the logger and dash.

I'll have all the stock gauges up for sale soon!

I do believe the pound is strong against the dollar at the moment, but if you check the price list this is what it says.

Micro Pod 3500-SL & Wiring Harness: $4,144.00 MSRP

Show Special: $2,899.00

Well they do throw in a USB mouse and keyboard!

And I thought the Dash1 was pricey!

I thought you guys were rolling in American products now that our dollar is about as valuable as a sows ear....

Isn't $2,000 about 100UKP these days?
