I got a Bosch Valencia Electronic Ignition Distributor!! However, I havnt got the plug with the wires...........
I figured out the center of the three is earth, therefore one must be 12v and the other to the coil -v....
Which is which?
If I get it wrong will it blow the module?
Cheers all...................
Too cold in the garage today!!!!!!!!
should be embossed on plastic bit where wires plug in to, centre is earth,+ to coil +(with ign live from sw) -to coil -
i'll give it a scrub and get the magnifying glass out!
cheers
cant see anything on it!! I've put a multimeter on and still have a 50/50 chance.. loll...
I'll either wait or get a haynes fiesta manual......
cheers!!
Haynes book of lies confirms your theory that the middle is coil but doesn't show which way up the module is. I'll have a look on my Fiesta
later and see if it's the same.
Chris
A bit of research into this suggests the wires go Black, Brown, Green (left to right, viewed from dizzy cap side). This was on a 1300 Valencia loom.
Standard Ford wiring colours suggest that would be Live, Earth, Coil.
As it is different from our theories I checked my Fiesta which is the same as above. It's running a 1.4 CVH loom.
BTW I have a complete Valencia engine loom if it's any good to you?

If it follows normal Ford pattern brown is earth, black is a switched live and green is the coil - via the rev counter I think.
yours, Pete.

using a multimeter the first was dead, the second was ground, the third gave a quick flash of a reading and faded to zero....
Using your feedback I would say: Live1 earth2 coil3.......
Thanx for all the feedback and help!
Cheers......
Now .. what do I do with the vaccume now I have twin 40's going on, just leave it off of fool around with the springs and weights in the
dizzy.........
On my Fiesta I have the vacuum lines from all four ports going into T pieces then into the dizzy. Seems to work ok!
Chris
Pinouts, numbers and wiring colours are
all on my site under Car Data. The numbers are very
tiny on the side of the plastic, about 1mm high.
I ran the unit without any vacuum
advance connected as i believe it will
over advance the xflow in its standard format.
Never had any problems and it performed
faultlessly on the rolling road.
Just fitting this unit produced a very noticeable
effect on the idle, much smoother.
Don't forget to fit an electronic version coil to go with this.
Sorted!!! Took a chance on the wiring.. fix it or break it approach...
outside left to right....
Coil..1 Eath..2 Live..3 looks a nice spark :p just got to get the F'cap now and see how tight the fit is......
As for the vaccume any feed back welcome as it all helps towards the big day
cheers!!
You can get right angled dizzy caps if you find it's a really tight fit.
Chris
I've got a reference says a side entry cap from Fiat Strada Super 75 & 85, motorcraft no 5005566 fits.
