Hey all, Ive installed my odyssey battery ok using 2 small M6 bolts.
problem is as my car is mainly a track car the battery will need charged / jumped etc but there is very little scope to attach jump leads etc to the
terminals.
can you get nice big fat terminals for these batteries? would make life easier.
cheers
straight copper pipe fitting, crush it halfway down, drill a hole through the crushed bit & bolt it on to the terminal, bingo
I think you are better off attaching a wire to the solenoid.
If you chassis is well earthed, the nwelding on a tab and attaching a piece of wire to it.
you can buy two part battery jump lead connectors so can attach wires to this and have the other end for your charger/jumper.
If you onlky plan to charge battery you can get away with much smaller wires - up to 10 A should be fine (depends on charger of course).
Jumper would need fat cables.
you can get proper bolt on adaptors...
(got them on mine)

If it is just for charging why not fit a dedicated plug which will be much quicker to connect and you could site it somewhere really easy to get to. The gel batteries never need maintenance and can be tucked away in all sorts of places.
here is the battery area. its pretty accessible so happy enough to use posts on top of the terminal.
im actually thinking now of a piece of copper pipe with a 90deg bend screwed to the battery and pointing straight up. then the top capped with
heatshrink or something to stop the bonnet touching off it while fitting.
The jumper plug you need is called an "Anderson plug/socket"
I have one on the F1-2 and I will be fitting one on the MotaLeira. They make jump starting or charging a doddle.
They are used on lots of race cars.
Powervamp sell them (amongst others)
