Anyone used this or similar?
>>malin auto light kit<<
It doesn't say it's for use in a car, but then I wouldn't expect it to as it avoids the legal problems that might arise. For £6
I'm very tempted. I've got auto lights on the tintop and wouldn't be without them, sure its a bit daft on a seven, but it's
incredibly easy so why not. I assume the SVA man would be happy as long as you have four switch settings - auto, off, side & full as in the
tintop?
Once the auto lights come on. Do they stay on until switched off, or do they come on and go off according to the lighting conditions? One of my previous cars had it but never used it so can't remember how it worked.
It looks as if it switches on when it gets dark and switches off when it gets light. If you left it in auto your battery would drain overnight.
Edit to say :

It comes on when it's dim and turns off when it gets light, but it's on a delay so it's got to be light for a good old time for them to
turn off. Also the light level is set so that street lamps etc would never turn the lights off.
As for the battery, when the light switch is in auto it is reliant on the ignition being turned on, so when you take the keys out the lights turn off.
If you want to leave the lights on when parked the other two settings on the switch are not dependant on the ignition.
My tintop and SWMBO's have got it, it's brilliant. You stick it in auto and never need to touch the light switch again. I think I've
only used the light switch in the beemer once, which was when i bought it and was checking everything.
could always fit after SVA...
