Hi, im currently trying to wire my R1 (02-03) into a car loom. What does everyone do with the engine loom, do you strip it of uneccesary parts or
leave it as it is? if you leave it as is what should i do to tidy it up as it currently looks a mess (see photo in blog below).
Thanks for any help
Adam
Desyboy has used his loom to wire the whole car, but I don't like this.
It means having only one circuit for each set of lights, unlike a production car which spreads them over several fuses.
If you lose the side lights on one side of the car then the other side stay on.
For that reason, I am going to unwrap my 05 loom and remove as much of the lighting stuff as possible.
I will keep the ign, ecu, fuel inj, and any engine sensors/fuel pump feeds etc.

Got to agree with Martin above - from a safety point of view i'd rather have seperate fuses for the lights so intend rewiring the whole lighting circuit myself and keeping the bike loom to the engine related circuits etc
i have the seperate loom for all the car bits for lights etc. Its just how do i go about tidying the R1 loom up as it looks a mess.
Unwrap it and retape with proper loom tape?
