Seems to be the common problem at the moment. I've been struggling to get my lighting wiring right for 3 days now and I just can't be
bothered arsing around any more, can anyone help? I'm using Sierra stalks and am stuck on
a) Pin 58 (grey) is listed as side lights, but where is the pin for main lights?
b)Pin 56b is labelled dip beam relay. Is dip beam the same as side lights? I'm getting lost in translation.
c)Pins 49 and 49a are both labelled flasher relay. How comes there's 2 flashers? Is one for indicators and one for flashing onto the hi beam?
Its all just pickling my head. Got the indicators and hazards going at least
I'd post a picture of the switches but even thats not working for me today!
Hope this helps. I have taken it from theTiger build manual.
Indicator switch pins
L= Left indicator and a green red wire.
R= Right indicator and a green white wire.
49a = comes from the main lamp relay pin 87 and is a light green brown
56= main light switch wire and is blue.
56a =Blue white to dippped beam
56b =is Blue red and right dipped beam

Not sure whats going on there. I don't have a blue wire coming off any of the pins. They all seem wrong to what wires are hanging off my stalks. I recall that there was a difference on older and newer models, this must be it. Cheers anyhow.
There are part numbers on the stalks. Early switches start 83BG....... Later switches have 87BG........... or 91BG............
First identify your switches.
The flasher (indicator and hazards) relay is wired to both types the same. 49 and 49A terminals are present on both stalks and relay and are wired 49
- 49 and 49A - 49A unsurprisingly.
Grumpy
I have somewhere pinouts for linking up tp a premier Wiring loom
Left hand switch (indicators and lighting ) give as follows:
Pin 15 Brown Head lamp flash
56A brown/yellow Main beam
56B Brown white Dip Beam
56 Brown/black Lights supply
54 Black Ignition supply
R Black/green O/S indicator
H30 Solid red Permanent 12V live
49 Black/red Supply to flash relay
L Black/white N/S indicator
49A Black/white Feed from flash relay
You should find 49 and 49A on the flasher relay - it doesn't mean there are two relays.
If I can track down the diagram I'll post it
These are what I've been working off. I've borrowed from Razmans archive as I'm having trouble uploading them or deleting things from
mine. Sorry they're so big
Sierra Stalk Switch diagram 1
Stalks
As you can see the colours and numbers are right but, for example pins 56 brown/black are listed as earths whereas MacBeast you list them as lights
supply.
The stalks, the only number I see is on a yellow heat shrink that is on 2 brown wires off the top and starts...wait for it, for more confusion
91BB!
Thoroughly confused
Tell me about it !!
Stalks 1
Stalks 2
I'm guessing but the earth / feed confusion may be because perhaps the Sierra wiring switches in the earth with a permanent live on the device,
whereas other people may prefer to use the same switch to switch the live to the device.
Coincidentally, I'm just at this stage too so if I get something working I'll let you know

Ho! So the pictures I was using were completely wrong? I was trying to figure it out myself but not getting far. Thanks very much MacBeast I'll give that a go tomorrow. I owe you one.
Don't count on it !!
I really can't remember where these diags came from (apologies to originator for copying)
It just occured to me that there may have been changeover of earth/feed arrangement when they started using relays instead of switching directly. Good
luck
You really do have to identify your switches. Circuit differences such as 83 style provide live feed to the mains whereas 87 style earth a relay to do this mean you're just not in with a shout unless you identify them. There will be a moulded number in the plastic or a stamped number on a metal plate.
Okay found the number. Starts 90BG.
