I have a heater fan out of a rover 214 but it only has a single input to the fan motor. I need some resistors for the slower speeds. What size resistors are normal?
I'd get a resistor pack out of a 214... Jobs a good'un....
Otherwise you'll need some high power resistors. No idea what size though, you'll probably need to see what ampage it's pulling without
a resistor and go from there...
Definitely get the resistor pack, even a knackered one will do as it's easy to replace the resistors. You can use three 1 ohm resistors to
provide a 4 speed control, they are all connected in series for slowest, two in series for next slowest, then just one resistor and then no resistors
for highest speed. This doesn't quite give the same speeds as the original rover pack but it's good enough.

The tiny coils are the resistors? I have those but thought them too lame to withstand the power. They are in the airflow though, so are cooled. Brilliant. Saves me a job. Thanks.
