Just done around 400 miles in our new lease pool car, a Honda Civic. Very fast for a diesel!
Anyway, the speedo is a nice blue digi thing that I thought would look great buried in my MNR dash.
How easy is it to strip one out from a scrappy car and use it in our 7's?
OR, can you get something similar from Maplins for example??
Very pretty. Not easy to replicate. Probably a lot of work to strip one out and keep it working. even if it doesn't require the ECU to do some
of the work.
Closest to do easily and, relatively, cheaply would be be something like one of the round acewells

Buy an Acewell!!!!!
in theory it could be done, in practise not so easy.
stripping out the module is a piece of cake.
I don't know if the dislpays are on one pcb or separate, but assuming the latter, you would then need to figure out the connections for the
mph-o-meter.
the speedo may be stand alone in that all it needs is pulses or it may need a micro to control it. you may be able to just cut out the display part
and have a micro to write to it.
Closest I could find so far is something like this:
