This is a strange one. I've been out on a treasure hunt today, at a couple of points on the route the car wouldn’t start until I let it cool down
a bit.
When I got home I thought I would do a bit of investigating.
On Megasquirt you get the option to set the afterstart enrichment at different temperatures. So I tried changing these but this didn’t help. Then I
found that the car will start below 90 c but not above 90c this just happens to be the temperature that the electric cooling fan kicks in. I turned it
off and the car started back on and it won’t.
In other words the cars won’t start when the fan is running. Once running it works fine with the fan is on or off.
Anyone had this?
Sounds like the cooling fan is taking current from the coil(s) when cranking to start. you might have it wired on the cranking side of the ignition
switch rather than the engine running side.
Hope this makes sense and helps.
Clive.
Hi yes that make sense. Thanks
I have the same problem, but when you start it if you press the accel pedal to the floor it starts, i haven't messed yet to look but there is a
hot start prime pulse setting,
if you look under other fuel settings on the fuel setup drop down menu it's there
i think that if like mine your flooding the engine on a hot start?
Hope that helps
Cheers I'll take a look.
