I have a second hand Westfield wiper motor and assy. Are they handed or can they be fitted either side of the scuttle and it is just a matter of swapping the wheel boxes round to ensure they park etc?

Yes if you mount the wheel box the other way up then it parks at the other side.

Try and keep the tubes as strieght as possible and put lots of grease in. They have a lot of friction if bent.
