Hi all
I'm useing a modified Escort MK2 loom and utilising the redundant HRW wire to power my fuel pump. Been having random fuel shortage breakdowns .
trying to engage brain cells on this and wondered if there was a timer or overheat cut off incorporated into the relay/switch/inline device . to cut
the power and save the battery , like in most modern cars . could solve my problem if there is ...any thoughts greatly apreciated . will listen to
see if my pump is going next time I break down
I removed that circuit from my loom. There is some for of relay that operates the HRW. I think it has a fuse on the relay too. No idea if it is timed
though.
I ran a new cable from a relay controlled by the new ECU.

I used the HRW relay for my fog light - powered from the lights , so the fog light can only be switched on with the lights on . There is definatly no timer on mine .
cheers . according to the great god Haynes there is some sort of fuse in the relay . will be driving my car back from display at Peterborough later if it breaks down I'll listen .....if I havn't got a Scania parked in my scull...
