In theory its a nice idea. Just hope the battery in the phone doesn't die, being on charge all the time.... dunno, should be ok

Someone mentioned that in the thread :

"What you wanna do is wire the phone charger up to a wire that only goes live when the ignition is on meaning everytime you turn the engine on it will top up the battery on the fone when u take the keys out the charger knocks off so you wont draw power when the engine isnt cranking. The phone battry is gonna last what 3days if its not used at all? I'm sure id notice before 3 days if my phone had been knicked. Best thing about this is if they do get your car get it to a garage and disconect the main car bat to start stipping the car, the phone still has its own power."

Looks like a great idea to me - wouldn't be too difficult to include the appropriate wiring when building a car.

On the alarm front what about a remote stop that when you text the phone under the dash and it shuts off the fuel pump the theif would then have problems re-starting the car. This would make it run out of fuel gradually and allow for a controllable stop. Then you could the use the phone locator to alert the police of it location

I've always said that mobile phones should have an ounce or two of semtex in them.

Then if someone nicks your phone, you can ring it, insert a pin code, and blow the little s***t's head off!
